Sara Jane: Summer S'mores Party

Happy Wednesday everyone!

As an adult, one of my favorite parts of summer is the fact that out of state family often comes to visit.  This week, we are lucky to have Abraham's older brother, Alex, and his adorable family here in town.  Tonight, we celebrated with a S'mores party.

In preparation for our grand party, I made these fun drink containers.  It was really so very easy.  I simply punched a hole (with a grommet hole puncher) on the top of a canning lid, filled a pint jar with milk or strawberry milk, and then fastened the lid on with a regular ban.  So simple and cute!

Asher and Beatrix thought they were pretty nifty.

Fire and children always scares me so I made these little S'more pops for the little kids.  I dipped the marshmallows in melted chocolate and sprinkled crushed graham crackers on top.  Again, SO simple!

As for the actual S'mores, we had to have the traditional Hershey's chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers but I wanted to mix it up a little bit.  On the platter, we also had chocolate stripped cookies and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (which I heard were fantastic).

I refuse to buy roasting sticks.  I know they are probably much more convenient but...I refuse!  So, my sweet husband picked a few small branches off of our apple tree, trimmed them up a bit and we had the perfect roasting sticks.

I took way too many pictures to document the evening.  Here are a few...

These sisters adore each other.

My love getting the fire going.

Bea LOVED the fire.  Gotta watch that one.

My Asher.

I think Penelope won the prize for eating the most marshmallows.

Bea and her Papa.

 Again, watching the fire.

This little angel, Victoria, is merely 3 weeks old.  Isn't she the cutest little baby?  I'm so glad I finally got to meet her!

My wonderful sister-in-law, Amy and baby Victoria.

This is Sierra.  Here she was showing me her S'more.  Silly girl!

Brothers....Alex, Abraham (with Bea) and Solomon.

If you haven't done one already, or even if you have, I would highly suggest having yourself a S'mores party...they're easy and so very delicious!

How do YOU like your S'mores???
