Shauna: Father's Day Wings

I am continually awed at my sisters.  It's pretty wonderful to be in a family with such talented and strong women.  And as for Sara's cake pops, I tasted them on Sunday and I can personally vouch for their deliciousness.
Father's Day! My own father, father-in-law and husband are incredible fathers.  The kind of fathers who love their children, and their wives.  I love the support and comfort Dave gives me and I'm so grateful that he is such an incredible father.
We have a little tradition in our family of eating chicken wings on Father's Day as they are one of my husbands favorite foods.  My favorite recipe is  a copy cat to Winger's wings (a restaurant only in Idaho and Utah) and they are so tasty!  I like to use the left over sauce to make chicken tender salads.

Father's Day Wings

Ingredients

Sauce:

1/3 cup Frank's Red Hot Sauce
1 1/2 cup brown sugar

Wings

1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
pinch of salt
20 chicken wings
oil for frying

Instructions

1.  Heat oil on medium in a large frying pan.  I like to use my wok, but a deep fryer is best if you have one.  2.  While the oil heats, mix together flour, cayenne pepper and salt in a large bowl.  Toss wings into flour mixture until evenly coated.
3.  Carefully place wings into hot oil.
4.  While they brown, heat Frank's Red Hot Sauce and brown sugar in a sauce pan until sugar dissolves.  Remove from heat and pour in a large bowl.
5.  When wings are thoroughly cooked, remove and toss into bowl with sauce until evenly coated.

Enjoy!
