***** GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED *****
It took me about 40 minutes to wrap the wreath in yarn (10 minutes here and there), and not much longer to cut out 12 hearts from scrap felt I had from other projects. I used a cookie cutter as my template and cut the heart out of a cereal box. (We're real sophisticated around here.)
I used a tiny dab of hot glue to secure each heart in place, until I could wrap them with yarn. It was such a fast and easy project! I was going to write up a tutorial, but after I finished, I clicked on the pin that had originally inspired me, and found a great tutorial found here. Go figure. :)
So... here's the giveaway questions:
What's your favorite way to spoil your significant other on Valentine's Day?
Or...
What's your favorite way to be spoiled on Valentine's Day?
Leave a comment below, and Monday morning I'll randomly select a reader to win this cute, 9" Valentine's Wreath. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Dang. Well, my husband is really hard to spoil. So I struggle with this one. But when holidays roll arond, we love to buy each other food that we normally wouldn't, or that we never have around. (Yes, sign of a foodie = I would be thrilled with a grocery-store gift card, just to buy stuff I don't!) So for him, that means I usually get some of his favorites: Dr. Pepper, a bag of Chee-tohs that he will never think is big enough, a bag of Reese's Cups. Often beef jerky, too (note: salmon jerky at Trader Joe's is not a good experiment--it is now dog-treat stuff). And I'll throw in something new, like fig jam and proscuitto (we had a really good sandwich made with these ingredients) or a camembert or brie. We love cheese.
ReplyDeleteAfter that super-long answer, second question: Honestly, I would love a coupon book that gave me the day off of dinner, or doing the dusting two or three times, or cleaning the toilet bowls once a week for two weeks. Throw in a massage and taking the toddler on a Saturday morning so I can sleep in, and life is really good. I get a lot of those things (not the massage) without asking, but the deliberate nature of the coupon book would mean a lot to me. And you better believe I'd redeem those suckers.
I love anything surprise, something that I don't have to plan out myself. :) We usually have a really small dollar limit, but it's the surprise that makes me the happiest!
ReplyDeleteWell, to be honest Chris and I are really bad at surprising each other. I don't like the obligatory flowers (I'd much rather have them on a day that he doesn't feel like he HAS to get them), but I do try to make his favorite dinner and I get him some of his favorite candy to snack on after the kids go to bed. If I had a choice on a way he could spoil me, it would be an entire day off. No kids to worry over, no food that I have to cook, and no cleaning to do. Basically I would go shopping. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, at this point I don't really have a significant other. So my Valentine's Day usually consists of chaperoning a Valentine's Day dance with a bunch of 12-15 year-olds with raging hormones. Always a good time. :) But this year I think I'll schedule a massage and get myself some Cafe Rio take-out :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Shannon! That sounds like a perfect gift! :)

I like to do a scavenger hunt for him so he goes all over the house, and sometimes outside to find his gift. I love doing homemade stuff that will last a long time or has a wonderful memory behind it.
ReplyDeleteIt made me reply anonymous for some reason...its Melissa though
DeleteOur favorite tradition is cheesecake and sparkling cider out of the wine glasses we got in Nashville.
ReplyDeleteWe go to a hotel for a night for a getaway. We try a different hotel downtown so that at some point we'll be able to say that we've stayed in them all!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I just saw this and I hope I win it :)

Sorry, Kellie... the giveaway ended this morning (I posted it last week), but it was so easy to make. We should get a group together to craft one of these night!
